Peter is the middle of three boys. The Batson family grew up in Gander, NL where Peter and his brothers developed a silent rivalry for who could land the biggest salmon or make the longest drive on the golf course. Since York’s creation in 2007, it’s been Peter’s vision and drive that has propelled the business forward in the residential and commercial construction industry while still holding true to the company’s core values. When they are not at their home in St. John’s, Peter, his wife, and three children can be found enjoying the outdoors at their cabin or spending the weekend around the bay in English Harbour.
Yvonne O'Brien
Accountant/Office Manager
Yvonne grew up in a small scenic community in Tors Cove, NL where her time in construction and housing started with the family business. When not hard at work, spending time with her family and grandchildren is the highlight of the day. Her strong work ethics throughout her career has brought many years of experience in Property Management to the team. Although she enjoys accounting and all other aspects of the industry her true passion is walking out the door, hopping on her ATV and heading up the country on a warm summer day.
Bobby Batson
Site Supervisor
Bobby, the youngest of the Batson brothers, also grew up in Gander with a strong family influence for the construction industry. Since joining York 10 years ago, Bobby is a true “Jack of all trades” for all of the projects he oversees. Though focused on the overall management of York’s commercial projects, his toolbelt is never far away should the need arise. Bobby and his fiancé recently saw their family grow with the arrival of their beautiful daughter. When he isn’t in Dad mode, Bobby enjoys a round of golf or landing a salmon on the Gander river.
Keith Upshall
Site Supervisor
If you visit a York residential site, you’re guaranteed to meet Keith, and there will always be a smile on his face. With over 30 years in the industry, Keith has had the pleasure of working with countless clients through one of the most important parts of their lives, building a home. Keith, his wife, and their son currently live in St. John’s, but you are more likely to find Keith visiting his daughter around the bay or spending time in NL’s backcountry, catching wild game or fish for one of his signature backyard feasts!
George English
Project Manager
Growing up in a fishing family in Branch, St. Mary’s Bay, George spent the majority of his time outdoors hunting and fishing. That is when he wasn’t playing basketball. He has transferred his organizational and client relations skill set from his time in Oil & Gas industry to this new venture in the world of Construction in St. John’s. His dedication and hard work has been a great asset to the team. These days George, his wife and two children call Outer Cove home, where the continue the English family tradition of exploring the great outdoors!
